The movie Super Mario Bros. tries to portray the game to a general audience instead of the original audience of the franchise, which it ultimately fails to do.
Super Mario follows a subversive comedy tone similar to movies like Ghostbusters. However, it’s awkward and doesn’t match games very well. It can be said that the tone is too silly for adults and too mature for children. Even with praise for the visual effects and Bob Hoskins’ performance, many consider it a weak film.

4. (2005) Doom
Doom is also one of the iconic franchises in the video game category. But the adapted movie is not at all well-made, entertaining and impressive. Mortal Kombat has, on average, a brighter track record among video game adaptations. Among the three Mortal Kombat movies, two of them are average. Alone in the Dark is a far cry from the acclaimed survival horror series. It also fails as an action horror film. The action is not used in the right place and the horror elements are hollow. This movie is not only considered the worst video game adaptation ever made, but some consider it one of the worst movies of all time!
