February 3, 2006, Astronauts International Space Station An empty astronaut suit named Suitsat was sent into space and it remained suspended there alone.
This suit was equipped with a battery, thermometer, dynamometer and radio transmitter. The radio transmitter continuously broadcast pre-recorded messages from scientists around the world in English, French, Japanese, Russian, German and Spanish. The telemetry data broadcast by the suit was programmed to be contributed by citizens and amateur radio operators, but its signals were not being received properly.

Launching this suit into Earth orbit allowed researchers to study the effects of space on the suit. Suitsat was not a complete success, orbiting the Earth twice before its batteries died prematurely and burning up on re-entry a few months later.
