Recently, MediaTek has become more active in the chip market and now it has unveiled its newest chipset called 7050. This chip is no different from Dimension 1080 which was introduced in November last year.
Specifications of Mediatek Dimension 7050 chip
This chip, like the Dimension 1080, is produced with TSMC’s 6nm lithography. This chipset is equipped with 8 processing cores, including 2 powerful Cortex-A78 cores with a frequency of 2.6 GHz and 6 low-power Cortex-A55 cores with a frequency of 2.0 GHz.

Dimension 7050 is equipped with Mali-G68 MC4 GPU and supports LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 internal memory. Devices equipped with this chip can have a screen with Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and both their SIM cards support 5G network.
Other features of Dimension 7050 include Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. In general, the technical specifications of this chip are not different from Dimension 1080, and we do not know exactly why Mediatek introduced it. Probably, MediaTek has decided to introduce Dimensity 7050 to have a mid-range chip with a new name.
This chipset will soon be used in the Lava Angi 2 5G phone in the Indian market.
