Xbox’s vice president of marketing has updated his profile picture on Twitter, which apparently refers to the two games Hellblade 2 and Avowed.
It seams Aaron Greenberg, The vice president of the marketing department of Xbox has mentioned the presence of two expected games of this company in their annual showcase at 20:30 Iran time on Sunday 21 June (June 11).
Xbox has previously confirmed the release of games such as Starfield, Redfall and Forza Motorsport in 2023, and started this year with the release of Hi-Fi Rush, which was well received by critics and players, and Redfall was released some time ago. which failed to perform as expected. Now that nearly a month is left until the next Xbox showcase, it seems that at least two of the most anticipated Xbox games are going to be shown there.
Titles like Fable, Perfect Dark, Avowed, Indiana Jones, and Hellblade 2 were announced a few years ago, and many Xbox fans think now is the perfect time to see new previews of these games along with release dates. Greenberg has now updated his Twitter profile picture with a new fan-designed image of the Xbox logo, which includes references to Hellblade 2 and Avowed.
In the center of this logo is a large tree with branches hanging down from which several corpses are hanging. Those who have experienced the first Hellblade or seen the trailers for its sequel will know that this ominous incarnation is a clear reference to the dark and Norse world of Hellblade 2. Additionally, the logo features several upward-facing arrows, which may be a reference to the Avowed intro trailer. In that trailer, a pile of fiery arrows could be seen soaring into the sky.
It seems that among all the works announced by Xbox Studios in the past few years, Hellblade 2 and Avowed are closer to their release than others. Before joining Microsoft in 2018, it had been 6 years since Ninja Theory released Hellblade in 2017. As for Obsidian, its multi-team structure allows multiple projects to be built at the same time, which probably means that when Outer Worlds was released in 2019, Avowed was in early pre-production.
Apart from the release of the Starfield game in September, Xbox has not announced the release of another game in 2023 except Forza Motorsport. It is possible that between Hellblade 2 or Avowed, one game will be released in late 2023, or both games will be released in the first half of 2024, but we will have to wait until next month and the Xbox Showcase.
