In the latest news of the game world, according to the estimates of the VGChartz website, the total sales of PS5, the ninth generation console of the Sony company, so far have exceeded the lifetime sales of the console. Nintendo 64 has exceeded. PlayStation 5 has sold around 35.54 units worldwide by February 2023. However, the Nintendo 64 console has only recorded 32.93 units of sales during its lifetime.
According to the list published by the mentioned website, Sega Genesis consoles with 34.06 units sold, SNES with 49.10 units sold and Xbox One with 51.26 unit sales have been ranked higher than PlayStation 5.
Sony’s 9th generation console has sold 14.24 million units in North America, 10.26 million units in Europe, 2.98 million units in Japan and 6.06 million units in the rest of the world. On the other hand, Nintendo 64 has recorded sales of 20.11 million units in North America, 6.35 million units in Europe, 5.54 million units in Japan and 0.93 million units in the rest of the world.
It is interesting to know that PS5 has sold about 2.52 million units in the UK, 1.66 million units in Germany and 1.48 million units in France.
In the past, Sony’s interactive entertainment division announced that it had shipped 32.1 million PlayStation 5 consoles to the global market by December 31, 2022. Launching this number of consoles by the end of December 2022 means that 7.1 million units were sold between October and December.
