After introducing the successful and best-selling Poco X3, Poco X3 Pro and Poco F3 phones, Poco has launched their new generation. Poco X4 GT can be considered a worthy and valuable successor to the previous generation, which provides you with the hardware power of last year’s flagships at a very competitive price. This phone is currently priced at around 10 million tomans, and in this price category, it does not see a particular competitor in front of it.
The most important feature of the Poco X4 GT is the optimized and powerful MediaTek Dimension 8100 chip, which is more powerful than the Snapdragon 870 and even challenges the Snapdragon 888 chip. 144 Hz display, 64 megapixel main camera and 67 W fast charging support are other features of this phone. Design and build quality

Poco X4 GT does not have a revolutionary and new design, but it looks very beautiful. Poco offers this device in three different colors, blue, black and silver, and we at Digiato have it in silver color. If you look at this phone from the front, you will not notice any particular difference compared to the previous generation, but we can see changes in the design on the back of the device.
Poco X4 GT uses a rectangular triple main camera module on the back frame. In this module, each camera is placed separately from each other. The LED flash is next to them. Poko logo along with a series of writings are also placed in this part. Unlike most Poco phones, this phone does not have large text or strange camera modules, and this minimal design has given the device a special beauty.
As before, Poco placed the fingerprint sensor of this phone on the power button, which according to many users, is the best place to install this sensor. Other items such as stereo speaker, USB-C port, infrared port and power and volume buttons can be seen on the Poco X4 GT frame. Interestingly, Poco has not removed the headphone jack from this phone and you can still connect your handsfree and wired headset to it. However, there is no handsfree in the box.

There is no special innovation in the design of the front frame of the device, and a 6.6-inch screen is placed in this section. Above this screen, a hole is used to host the selfie camera. The bezels around the Poco X4 GT display are relatively thin, but there is a thicker bezel at the bottom of the display.
Considering the weight of 200 grams and the thickness of 8.9 mm, Poco X4 GT cannot be considered a comfortable phone, but during my short experience, the overall ergonomics of the phone is acceptable and you probably won’t get tired of using it for a long time.
One of the reasons that Poco has been able to keep the price of this phone low is its build quality. The Poco X4 GT is made of plastic, but it doesn’t feel like a cheap phone at all. The glass on the display is protected with Gorilla Glass 5, but there is no IP certificate and protection against water and dust penetration.
Display

Unlike most new Poco and Xiaomi phones and 10 million Toman competitors that have a 120Hz AMOLED display, the Poco X4 GT uses an IPS LCD display with a 144Hz refresh rate. This issue is another reason for the competitive price of the new mid-range Poco in the market.
The 6.6-inch screen of Poco X4 GT with IPS LCD panel and full HD resolution (1080 x 2460 pixels) is of very good quality, but in terms of image attractiveness, it does not reach AMOLED screens. Of course, if you are not into comparisons, you will most likely be satisfied with the display of the Poco X4 GT.

One of the relative weaknesses of the Poco X4 GT is the maximum brightness of its display, which reaches about 450 nits in manual mode and 600 nits in automatic mode. These figures are sufficient to work in most lighting conditions, but in very bright environments and under direct sunlight, it will be difficult to view the content of the screen.
The 144 Hz refresh rate of the display is definitely attractive for gamers. However, you will rarely find a popular game that supports this frame rate. The human eye can hardly distinguish between a 120 Hz and 144 Hz screen. Therefore, this feature cannot be considered among the strengths of the Poco X4 GT.
Operating system and user interface

Poco X4 GT comes with the MIUI 13 user interface like all other new Xiaomi phones. Fortunately, unlike some new models, Xiaomi has used Android 12 on this phone by default. Based on the brand’s track record and performance in delivering major updates, we expect the Poco X4 GT to receive at least two major Android updates. Therefore, it is not far from the expectation that we will see the release of Android 14 update for this mid-range in the future.
The MIUI 13 user interface in Poco X4 GT is rich in various features and functions. You can customize different parts of this phone to your liking. For example, you are even able to change the boot animation and install different fonts. All this allows the user to interact more with the phone.

On the other hand, the appearance of the user interface is beautiful and the animations in it have an interesting design. Xiaomi has also focused on performance optimization in MIUI 13. The company claims that thanks to the latest generation of MIUI, after 36 months of using the device, its performance will drop by only 5%. The truth or falsity of this claim cannot be proven at this time.
One of the strange things about the MIUI 13 user interface is that it takes full advantage of the new features of Android 12. While the ability to customize color palettes is available in Android 12, such an option is not available to Poco X4 GT users. Instead, if you set a specific wallpaper, the color palette of a series of colors will automatically change accordingly. The user interface has a good performance thanks to the strong hardware power and the high refresh rate of the screen and runs as smoothly as possible.
Hardware performance

One of the main improvements of the Poco X4 GT compared to the previous generation is related to the hardware. The Chinese have continued to use high-end MediaTek chips, but this time, we see a more powerful chip called Dimensity 8100. This chip is made with 5nm technology and is known as one of the most powerful mobile chipsets. Along with this powerful chip, we see the use of 8 GB of RAM memory and 256 GB of high-speed internal memory.
To evaluate the hardware power of Poco X4 GT, we first go to the usual benchmarks. In the following, we see the benchmark results of Antoto, Geekbench, PCMark and 3DMark for this phone.
As you can see in the above pictures, the results obtained for a 10 million Toman phone are completely beyond expectations. In fact, the Poco X4 GT easily beats all its competitors in terms of hardware performance. In the table below, we compare the benchmark results of this phone with some competitors.
phone name | Antutu 9 |
GeekBench 5 Multi-Core |
PCMark Work 3.0 |
3DMark WL Unlimited |
3DMark WLE Unlimited |
Poco X4 GT | 766615 | 3731 | 13583 | 5822 | 1252 |
Poco X3 GT | 578505 | 2310 | 10455 | – | – |
Poco F3 | 684034 | 3376 | 13400 | 4271 | 1222 |
Galaxy A52s | 498831 | 2863 | 12233 | 2491 | 689 |
According to the above results, it can be said that Poco X4 GT has much better hardware performance compared to the previous generation and Samsung mid-ranges. This phone runs all apps and games of the day with the highest graphics settings and in the smoothest way possible.
I installed two games Call of Duty Mobile and Gunshin Impact on this phone. Call of Duty Mobile was run with Very High graphics settings and Max frame rate without any lag or delay. Genshin Impact, which is known as the heaviest game in the mobile world, was also run in the smoothest possible way with the highest graphics settings and 60 frames per second mode.

Of course, Poco X4 GT is also capable of playing games with a higher frame rate, but you know that most popular titles are not compatible with this feature. It is expected that this phone will be able to run all games and programs without problems for several years.
Poco X4 GT uses a stereo speaker that improves your gaming experience. The volume of this phone is definitely satisfactory, but we see sound distortion at high volumes. This phone also supports the latest wireless standards, i.e. Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6, while unlike the Poco X3 GT, it also has a headphone jack.
Camera

Although we don’t expect a high-quality camera from a mid-range phone of 10 million tomans, Poco has tried to some extent to improve your photography experience compared to the previous generation. Therefore, the main camera of the Poco X4 GT is slightly better compared to the previous generation. Of course, the rest of the cameras are not only different from before, but also not good quality. In the following, you can see the specifications of the four cameras of this phone.
- 64 megapixel wide camera, 1/1.72 inch sensor, F1.9 factor, PDAF autofocus
- 8 megapixel ultra-wide camera, 1/4 inch sensor, F2.2 factor
- 2 megapixel macro camera, F2.4 factor
- 16 megapixel selfie camera, 1/3.06 inch sensor, F2.5 factor
In the following, we review the images recorded with the Poco X4 GT.
The main camera of the Poco X4 GT takes very good photos in sufficient light. These images have vivid and attractive colors, the details are visible enough and there is no noise. Of course, the dynamic range could be a little more. Especially in the last photo, you can see that the HDR feature and artificial intelligence could not capture the details of the bright parts correctly.
In the dark environment, we see very good images from the main camera of Poco X4 GT, which are recorded with fresh colors and sufficient details. The noise of the photos is also well controlled. The above images were recorded by activating the artificial intelligence feature. If you shoot in night mode, the noise of the images will be reduced a bit, but you have to spend more time capturing each photo.
The Poco X4 GT ultrawide camera is quite ordinary and you shouldn’t expect much from it. In good lighting conditions, the images can be considered acceptable, but in poor lighting conditions, I suggest not to go for this camera at all.
Poco X4 GT’s selfie camera photos are acceptable as a 16MP camera, but in most situations we see unrealistic colors, limited dynamic range and reduced detail. Even indoors with sufficient light, you cannot take good pictures with this camera.
Forget the Poco X4 GT’s 2-megapixel macro camera, as it will play no role in your photography experience.
Battery and charging

Poco X4 GT uses a powerful chip and a display with a high refresh rate, and it will naturally consume a lot of energy. Poco has considered a high-capacity 5080 mAh battery for this phone, which also has a good charging capacity. The result of the battery test of this phone with the PC Mark application with 50% screen brightness in 144 Hz mode and Wi-Fi on reaches 13.5 hours, which is a very good figure.
Of course, according to my experience, this result is slightly different from reality, which is probably due to the brightness of the display. However, you can expect between 8 and 10 hours of screen time from this phone during daily use. So even with an hour or two of gaming a day, you will definitely get a full day of charging from the Poco X4 GT.
The charging speed of Poco’s new mid-range is also very good like other phones of this company. This phone can be charged up to 75% in half an hour and fully charged in less than an hour with the 67-watt charger inside the box.
Poco X4 GT review summary

In a situation where Samsung’s new mid-ranges are not taking hold in the Iranian and global markets, Poco alone bears the burden of providing valuable phones in different price ranges. Poco F4 GT, which was reviewed in Digiato a while ago, is the best economic gaming phone in the market, and now Poco X4 GT can be the best powerful phone in the price range of 10 million Tomans.
Poco X4 GT has significant improvements compared to all previous generation models and has a much higher purchase value than other members of its family. However, if you can’t give a damn about the AMOLED display, you can choose the Poco F4, which has a better display and build quality, but in terms of hardware power, the quality of the main camera, and charging, it is in a lower category than the Poco X4 GT.
