A Sony Interactive Entertainment employee’s LinkedIn page hints at plans to launch an unannounced first-party game sometime this year.
2023 has been a busy year for gamers so far, and looking at the games that are going to be released in the future, it can be said that this trend continues. However, when it comes to Sony’s exclusive games for PlayStation, Sony’s annual calendar is relatively lighter, with the only first-party PS5 game officially slated for 2023 being Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. However, it is possible that there are other cases that we were not aware of until now.
This rumor is based on information obtained from the LinkedIn page of Dylan S., a senior VFX designer at Sony Interactive Entertainment, who works on “special and realistic visual effects for movies, games and television productions” for the company. He previously worked on the development of God of War Ragnarok and the interesting point here is that his profile refers to an unknown project related to 2023 that has not been announced yet.
What game this project could be is not yet clear and only speculation exists about it now; But one of the possibilities that may be raised is the multiplayer and independent game The Last of Us from Naughty Dog, which has not yet been officially announced and does not have a specific release date.
On the other hand, recent rumors suggest that a PlayStation Showcase event is planned for later this month. So it’s likely that we’ll soon hear more about Sony’s plans for 2023.
