Marvel Studios has just hired a new writer to rewrite the script for the Fantastic Four reboot, who worked on Avatar 2.
In the latest Cinema and TV news, another writer has been added to the writing team of the Fantastic Four reboot. Avatar: The Way of Water writer Josh Friedman has been hired to write the script for Fantastic Four, The Hollywood Reporter reported. Friedman is actually going to rewrite the original screenplay written by Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer. THR adds that since Kaplan and Springer are better known for comedy, the hiring of Friedman would likely mean a change in the overall tone of Fantastic Four.
WandaVision director Matt Shekman is in charge of directing the Fantastic Four reboot. The Fantastic Four reboot is part of the sixth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where it will conclude the story of the Multiverse. The movie Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and the movie Avengers: Secret Wars are part of the sixth phase of the MCU. Not much information is available about the Fantastic Four movie, such as when filming will begin and its plot, but according to Marvel Studios, the movie is not going to tell an origin story of the group.
Josh Friedman is known these days for writing the story of the movie Avatar: The Way of Water and the movie Avatar 3 and writing the screenplay of the movie Avatar 4 and the movie Avatar 5. Friedman also wrote the screenplays for War of the Worlds, The Black Dahlia, and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. Friedman has also written and produced Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Emerald City, Snowpiercer, and Foundation series, and worked on the story of Terminator: Dark Fate.
