Qualcomm in the last months of this year from the new generation of its flagship chip, that is Snapdragon 8 generation 3 will unveil. Now we see the disclosure of the configuration of the cores of this chip and some of its other specifications.
Early reports about this chip announced the same core configuration as the current generation (Snapdragon 8 Generation 2), i.e. 3 + 4 + 1, but the new report has a different opinion; According to today’s report, we should expect a 2 + 5 + 1 configuration with a Cortex-X4 core clocked at 3.2 GHz.
Possible specifications of Snapdragon 8 generation 3
Although today’s report mentions a frequency of 3.2 GHz, according to a report in the past, the frequency of this core reaches 3.75 GHz. Of course, this frequency will be related to the overclocked version, but again, we do not expect to face a maximum frequency of 3.2 GHz in the standard mode, and the frequency should be higher.
Apparently, in the Snapdragon 8 generation 3, we will face 5 Cortex-A720 cores with a frequency of 3.0 GHz and 2 Cortex-A520 cores with a frequency of 2.0 GHz. If this configuration is correct, not only will it have one more Cortex-A720 core, but unlike the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, we won’t be dealing with two different types of cores.

In the graphics processor section, Qualcomm will use Adreno 750. We should also expect Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 support for high-speed internal memory UFS 4.1 and LPDDR5 RAM with a speed of 7500 MB/s. You have to wait in the modem section Snapdragon X75 5G to be A modem that supports satellite communication and has low energy consumption.
According to previous reports, the 3rd generation Snapdragon 8 will be produced with TSMC’s 4nm N4P lithography, so we won’t be facing 3nm lithography for the next few generations. Of course, it is still not possible to be sure about this issue and maybe a 3 nm chip will be used in the end. There is even a possibility that Qualcomm will go to Samsung again; Although such a thing seems a little unlikely.
